Academic released in KCK case in Turkey

Sixteen suspects, including Professor Buşra Ersanlı, were released today in the ongoing Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) case, Hurriyet reports.  
 
Ersanlı is an academic and an administrator in the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP). Ersanlı had been under arrest for over eight months.
 
The case was filed against 193 defendants; authorities had been trying 132 of them under arrest.  
 
The KCK is the alleged urban wing of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which is recognized as a terrorist group by the United States, the European Union and Turkey.
