72% of people questioned by the Turkish Center for Strategic Studies BILGESAM say that the military action against Syria was organized for the sake of western states, RIA Novosti reports.
75% people are opposed to Turkish involvement in the operation under the auspices of the NATO or the UN. 36.8% of people are against use of force to settle the Syrian conflict. 38% want Turkey to give the UN or the NATO political support.
40% of Turks say that the country should help the Syrian opposition, 43.4% want negotiations, 32.7% say that the conflict is none of Turkey’s business.
One fifth of people questioned say that Syria will split after the resignation of President Bashar al-Assad. One sixth say that the Kurds would use the situation to form their own state and unite it with Iraqi Kurdistan.
