Law-enforcement officials identified the gunman killed yesterday in a
shootout with security forces in the Buinaksk district of Dagestan, portal YuGA.ru reports.
VK reported that the shootout took place last night 3 km north of the village of Arcas.
"The militant turned out to be Ahmed Labazanov, nicknamed Doctor, born
in 1973, a native of the village of Ohli in the Levashin district," the
press service of the Ministry of Interior in Daghestan said.
According to security officials, since 2004 Labazanov has been helping the
Buinaksk and Kadar underground and terrorist groups. In July 2012 he
went into hiding and was wanted as an active member of the Buinaksk
gang.
