An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.7 on the Richter scale happened at Varzagan in the Eastern Azerbaijan Province, registered by the Seismological Center of the Institute for Geophysics of the Tehran University at 6.26 am, Trend reports.

No damage or injuries have been registered.

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 points happened in the north-western part of Iran on August 11. Over 300 people died and over 2,000 were injured. The earthquake center was in Ahar, Varzagan and Naris. About 110 villages were partly or totally destroyed.
