Two policemen killed by explosion in Chechnya

Two policemen were hospitalized today after a tripwire mine exploded in a forest in Chechnya, the Interior Ministry of the Republic announced. "The explosion occurred this morning in a wooded area situated between the village of Arshty in the Sunzha district of the republic of Ingushetia and the village of Bamut Achkhoi in the Martan district of Chechnya," the report says.

The explosion injured two members of the battalion of patrol police of the department of the Russian Interior Ministry of Achkhoi-Martan district - a 35-year-old warrant police officer and a 24-year-old police sergeant. They suffered injuries of various severity levels, RIA Novosti reports.
