According to preliminary information, more than 170 thousand people took part in the holiday event of Eid al-Fitr in Moscow, RIA Novosti cites the press service of the Moscow Interior Ministry.
“The major arrangements have already been finished in the capital. Security and public order have been provided completely,” the source told the agency.
Three thousand policemen and soldiers provided security in Moscow. Meanwhile, traffic is restored on the Prospekt Mira.
Eid al-Fitr is one of the most significant religious holidays in Islam. This year it is celebrated on August 19.
