Moscow authorities to spend 10 million rubles on social ads of migrants

Moscow authorities will spend 10 million rubles on representing Moscow migrants in a better light. The campaign will be implemented on radio, TV and Internet. At the same time the Moscow authorities will publish leaflets against xenophobia and will place social ads on numerous billboards, 24smi.org reports.

The program to support inter-ethnic relations in Moscow was initiated by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin. The Department of Media is planning to produce about 20 clips representing migrants in a better light.
The authorities believe that the campaign will help to change the general attitude towards migrants by breaking stereotypes, and it will also help counteract extremism and racial and religious intolerance.
