Businessman Feruza Agaev was shot dead in Derbent in Dagestan on Friday night by unknown gunmen who then fled, Interfax cites a law enforcement source.
"On Friday at around 22:00 Moscow Time in Derbent, a member of a district assembly of the republic together with the businessman were leaving a roadside cafe by the entrance to the city on the highway leading to Baku. Unknown men approached them and deliberately shot at the businessman, who died," the source said.
According to him, the deputy was not injured. The number of attackers is being determined.
Police were able to identify the motor vehicle from which Agaev was killed.
"It is known that the bandits opened fire on the businessman from a VAZ-2114. Agaev, who had a business in Moscow, died of his wounds," the source said, adding that the identities of the attackers were being established.
