Law enforcement officers clashed with militants on Saturday in the Tsuntinsky region of Dagestan. According to preliminary data, three security officials were wounded, RIA Novosti cites a source in the law-enforcement agencies.
"According to preliminary data, the clash occurred on the outskirts of the village of Khutro. As a result of firearms contact, according to preliminary data, three security officials were wounded," the source said.
RIA Novosti's source in the local law-enforcement bodies, say the clash is near the village of Huntli.
"The armed clash involved seconded OMON fighters, located in the district. The situation continues to be investigated," he added.
"According to the latest data, three militants were eliminated, one law-enforcement officer was killed, and another two or three, according to various sources, were wounded," the source said.
