Sochi's Adler checkpoint inspected

Members of the Community Council on the preparations for the 2014 Olympics inspected the Adler checkpoint on the Russian-Abkhaz border, reports portal YuGA.ru.

 

Council members Nadezhda Kozlova and Dmitry Mozolyuk inspected the complex and became acquainted with border procedures.

 

A new multilateral checkpoint earned in Sochi in March. The post is equipped to control customs and border procedures, clearance and passport control for passengers. The vehicle lanes to the side of the road indicate the dedicated area, divided into three directions.

 

About 44 thousand people and 5.5 thousand vehicles can pass through the checkpoint a day. About 20 Russians are turned away daily for debt. There are 24 jobs supervisors to check passports . More than 100 employees work in shifts.

 

Passport control border guards have three minutes to process each visitor. The members of the public council were shown that the actual procedure takes less than a minute. Kozlova said the latest sociological polls indicate that citizens and guests of the city had noted improvements in the border services.

 

"The time it takes to cross the border, in comparison with last year, is a totally different situation," Kozlova said.
