The founder of the PR agency "Mikhailov and Partners," Sergei Mikhailov,
who has been working as board member of the railway monopoly Russian
Railways, has been officially appointed CEO of ITAR-TASS. Mikhailov
succeeded Vitaly Ignatenko, who had been the head of the information
agency for more than 20 years.
A relevant decree has been signed by Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev,
RIA-Novosti reports with reference to the press service of the
government.
Sergey Mikhailov is one of the founders of the Russian Association of
Public Relations, an honorary member of the RAPR. He is a member of
the Russian Union of Journalists, an author of more than 200
publications. He is also a member of the International Association for
Public Affairs (IPRA) and the American Society of Public Relations
(PRSA).
He has been recognized as one of the leading mangers of Russia by Kommersant.
Mikhailov is included in the staff reserve of the Russian president.
