North Ossetia is having the 10th commemoration of victims of the Kolka Glacier, Interfax-South reports.
North Ossetian Leader Taymuraz Mamsurov, Speaker of Parliament Larisa Khabitsova, members of North Ossetian government and parliament, municipalities and activities of public organizations are commemorating over 100 people killed by the glacier at a memorial of Gizel Village.
Scientists and researchers arrived for an international science forum of the glacier accident organized at the North Caucasus Technological University.
The Kolka Glacier went down at the Karmadon Canyon in North Ossetia on September 20, 2002. Over 100 people died, including the crew of film-maker Sergey Bodrov Jr., who was making the “Svyaznoy” film in the canyon.
