Armenia celebrates Constitution Day

Armenia celebrates on Monday the 15th anniversary of its Constitution.
Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan sent a message of gratitude to his
compatriots on Monday, News Armenia reports.


In his message, Sargsyan noted the influence and importance of the
Constitution in the law and order of the country. July 5 is a national
holiday in Armenia.


The Constitution was adopted on July 5, 1995. In November 2005 there
were amendments introduced, involving the handing over of some of the
president's powers to other state institutions.
