Grozny marks City Day 2012

Grozny is marking City Day. Flowers were placed at the memorial to the first Chechen President, Akhmat Kadyrov, at the Alley of Honour.

Grozny has been marking the day of its foundation for 194 years. Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov congratulated its inhabitants. Kadyrov reminded that the city had been comparable with Stalingrad after the war. Modern Grozny has become one of the most beautiful cities of Russia.

Official celebrations will include the opening of the new building of the Council of Deputies abd the Park of National Culture named after A.A. Kadyrov. The National Museum of Chechnya will open, offering a cinema lecture hall with 200 seats, a library, an art workshop, an exhibition hall, a restoration workshop and a laboratory, a cinema and photo laboratory, special science rooms. The building covers 3627 square meters, Yuga.ru reports.

The Mosque of Sheikh Deni Arsanov will be opened. 100 certificates will be awarded for accommodation of orphans.

A summer amphitheatre at the Grozny-City Business Centre will present a great show of world and Russian celebrities.
