No more alcohol in Turkish universities

Nine universities have recently banned the sale and consumption of alcohol on campus, following a written statement from the Higher Education Board on August 8, 2012, Hurriyet Daily News reports.   

"The statement is valid for all universities, but it may differ for those whose campus' are far from the city center," said Prof. Dr. Sabri Eyigün, secretary general of Dicle University in the southeastern province of Diyarbakır, which is one of the nine universities to have passed the ban.
