Some Muslim families filed a complaint that wearing a hijab was banned at a school in the Neftekuminsky District of the Stavropol Territory, RIA Novosti reports.
They said that their children had not been allowed to enter school for about two weeks, although no such problems had occurred in September.
The Mufti Office said that it was the sixth complaint it received. Similar notes were filed by people from the Irzgirsky and Stepnoy Districts. They point out foolishness of functionaries. About 3,000 Muslims, mainly Nogais and ethnicities from Dagestan, live at Karatyube.
Mufti of the Stavropol Territory Muhammad Haji Rahimov requested heads of districts, the governor and prosecutor of the region to help resolve the proble.
Ilona Vasyuk, deputy head of the administration of the Neftekumsky District, said that the prosecutors were studying the complaints.
