The main Mufti of Moscow and Central Russia, Albir Krganov, believes
that because of the influx of foreign workers from countries that
practice Islam, Russia needs to build more mosques. "We are concerned
about the lack of places of worship," he said today at a news
conference in Moscow, Interfax reports.
"Since today the state accepts a lot of workers, we have to solve this
issue," Krganov said. Krganov is the deputy head of the Spiritual
Administration of Muslims of Russia.
He also stressed that religion should become part of migration
policy in Russia.
