Ingushetia gets telephone line for militants who want to abandon forests

Today “a hot line” of Ingushetia’s head, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov, for militants who decide to surrender has begun operating. 40 people called the line in the first few hours. The press secretary of Ingushetia’s head said that not only residents of the republic, but also people from other countries of the world called.

A special team responds to the calls daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Yevkurov stated that special attention is paid to information connected with crimes, terrorist attacks and the desire to abandon the underground networks.

All calls received are divided into three levels: emergency, important, and significant. Emergency status is given to issues connected with crime and militant groups. The republic's head is informed about emergency issues immediately.

Yevkurov understands that the telephone line will be used for settlement of other problems too. There are calls expressing gratitude for the initiative or proposing new ideas. However, there were calls on guarantees from the authorities in case members of a militant group give themselves up.

Yevkurov guaranteed that calls won’t be monitored in order to detect the location of militants. If a person doesn’t trust the aides, he has an opportunity to talk to Yevkurov. The number of his telephone will be written down and Yevkurov will call him back the next day.
