Chechnya plans to teach preschoolers the basics of Islam. The first lessons will soon start in Chechnya. Teachers of Islam are being selected at the Russian Islamic University, RIA Novosti reports.
About 40 teachers have been chosen. The education program of Islam is implemented with approval of the governmental committee for preschool education and the Grozny Mayor’s Office.
Chechen Leader Ramzan Kadyrov noted the need to teach basics of religion and its history at school. He believes that it would help give true teachings of Islam.
