Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Muslims on Eid al-Adha. He emphasized the contribution of Muslims to development of inter-confessional and interethnic peace, unity of peoples, maintenance of family traditions and religious tolerance.
Moscow executives have provided additional places for prayers on Friday morning. Four Moscow mosques, the Luzhniki Olympic Complex, the Izumrudny sports facility in Southern Butovo and the Park of the 60th Anniversary of October on the Kolomenskaya Street will have prayers.
About 3,000 police officers will maintain order on the streets.
