Migrants to pass language, history, law exams in Russia

Today a bill on obligatory examinations on the history of Russia, the Russian language and the foundations of law for all labor migrants from January 1st 2013, has been presented in the State Duma. The bill was initiated by the chairman of the committee on constitutional legislation and statehood Vladimir Piligin and another member of the committee Dmitry Vyatkin.

 

The bill requires that every labor migrant gets a five-year certificate on speaking Russia, knowing Russian history and the laws of the Russian Federation for getting a work visa. The examinations will be held by organizations selected by the Ministry of Education. The total cost – 5 thousand rubles - is to be paid by the migrant, Gazeta.ru reported.
