The Azerbaijani Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has declared an emergency situation due to swarms of Morrocan and Asian dragonflies. The ministry's press-service told Trend that the insects had destroyed 20-25 hectares of green fields on the Navay-Gadjibul road section of the Alyaty-Gadjibul highway.
Despite the measures taken under the supervision of the ministry, the situation has not changed and the forestry department has intensified its work. Specialists believe that the trees and bushes destroyed by the insects will recover.
