On Nov. 10, 2,400 volunteers came together in Izmir to form a larger-than-life Ataturk portrait, with nearly 2,000 others left out due to limited capabilities, Dogan news agency reported.
The activity received an enthusiastic response from Izmir locals, with thousands eager to take part.
The portrait was constructed by citizens standing in a specific pattern and visible from the above. It was ready around noon and celebrations followed the completion of the figure.
