Georgia’s Telasi on strike

Georgia’s Telasi on strike

Telasi, an energy distributor in Tbilisi owned by RAO UES (Russia), has closed all offices and started a mass strike. Specialists responsible for electricity supplies in the city and emergency brigades are the only ones at work.

The protesting employees support the 7 hunger strikers who demand restoration of 125 workers fired in mid-2012.

Georgian Minister for Energy Kakha Kaladze plans to meet the strikers. An authorized group of RAO UES will consider their problems.

The hunger strike started with only 3 people a week ago. Four more joined them later.
