The Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee in the Stavropol Territory has initiated a criminal case against Valery Kalugin, head of the regional parliamentary committee for legislature, state construction and local autonomies, for killing a 57-year-old local from the Soluno-Dmitriyevskoye Village and fleeing the place, RIA Novosti reports.
The accident happened on the 310th km of the Kavkaz Federal Highway on November 22. The suspect may get 5 years of conviction.
Kalugin said that he had stopped after the car accident, saw a corpse of a large sheep-dog and continued to drive.
