Rescuers have found bodies of a Ukrainian crew member and a Turkish rescuers at the Volgo Balt 199 dry-cargo ship’s place of sinking at the Istanbul coast.
A Russian and three Ukrainians have been saved so far. Three rescuers died and three went missing during the operation.
The ship was carrying 3,300 tons of coal from Russia to Antalya. It sunk at Sile, 19 km away from Istanbul. The crew consisted of a Russian and 11 Ukrainians.
