The Gelendzhik District Cossack Society will protect forests from the llegal cutting down of fir trees. About 30 Cossacks and woodsmen will patrol the forests, chieftain Constantine Zyryanov said, Yuga.u reports.
About 400 spruces were planted around Gelendzhik in 2012. Violators of the law may be fined up to 50,000 rubles.
