Pupils in the Stavropol Territory are obliged to wear school uniforms without religious symbols and attributes.
Regional Education Minister Irina Kuvaldina said that the local government passed the uniform standards on October 31. Each school must introduce amendments to its charter to comply with the standards before December 20.
68% of people questioned in the region approve the idea. Parents that do not want their children to wear the uniforms may find a different form of education.
Russian President Vladimir Putin recommended regions to consider development of schools uniforms.
