Russia is marking the Security Officers’ Day today. Russian President Vladimir Putin used to work at the FSB (former KGB) and congratulated its agents, RIA Novosti reports.
The president noted the need to implement new methods of operation, think strategically when fighting terrorism and extremists that use nationalistic and religious slogans.
Putin emphasized that special attention should be paid to economic interests, intellectual and cultural resources and border protection.
The Security Officers’ Day has been marked annually since 1995.
