Russian airliner overshoots runway at Moscow airport

A Russian Tupolev Tu-204 medium-haul airliner overshot the runway while landing at Moscow’s Vnukovo airport and caught fire on Saturday, the Interior Ministry said, RIA Novosti reports.

The cause of the incident was not immediately clear.

First reports said there were 12 people on board the plane, including four crewmembers, flying from the Czech Republic.

Initial reports said five people were injured, three of them seriously.
