A 6.2-magnitude earthquake hit western Turkey today at around 4:10 p.m., according to reports.
The quake, which was felt strongly around Istanbul and other nearby regions, was centered in the Aegean region, daily Hürriyet reported.
The earthquake's epicenter was 80 to 100 km off of Çanakkale, according to the Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute.
