A group of 5 counterfeiters was caught selling 265,000 fake banknotes for 110,000 real rubles, Interfax cites Irina Volk, spokeswoman of the Directorate for Economic Security and Corruption Control in Moscow.
The purchase was made by police officers to catch the counterfeiters. 2 of the counterfeiters were from the North Caucasus, the rest from Kazakhstan, Kalmykia and Stavropol Territory. They planned to sell over a million banknotes.
