Mehriban Aliyeva, the first lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, has been recognized as the symbol of humanism of 2012 in Pakistan, as stated by Daily Times and the Volunteer Women’s Organization.
Acting Speaker of Parliament of Pakistan Faisal Karim Kundi, Deputy Chairman of Senate Sabir Beludzh, heads of parliamentary and senatorial committees, senators, MOs and other officials attended the award ceremony.
Samina Shah, head of the Volunteer Women’s Organization, described the humanitarian projects Aliyeva helped realize in Pakistan. A film about contribution of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation around the world was presented.
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Pakistan Dashgyn Shikarov received the award for Aliyeva.
