Russian vice premier and Ingush leader honored by patriarch

Russian Patriarch Kirill has awarded Vice Alexander Khloponin, Plenipotentiary Presidential Envoy to the North Caucasian Federal District with the II-rank Order of Glory and Honour for organizing the patriarch’s recent visit to the North Caucasus. Another order was presented to Ingush Leader Yunus-Bek Yevkurov for assistance in construction of the Church of Intercession of the Theotokos and the II-rank Medal of Glory and Honour to Dudarov, Director of the Ingush Quarry Administration.

The awards were presented at the Christ the Saviour Cathedral in Moscow after promotion of Archimandrite Varlaam as the Bishop of Makhachkala and Grozny.

The ceremony was attended by Chechen Vice Premier Bekhan Taymaskhanov, Dagestani Vice Premier Oleg Lipatov, deputy head of the Russian parliamentary committee for nationalities Gajimet Safaraliyev, delegations from republics of the North Caucasus and other officials.
