Kabardino-Balkarian Interior Minister Sergey Vasilyev said that the structure of militants in the region was almost crushed, with ideologists killed or detained, RIA Novosti reports.
The minister urged young people to leave the militant ranks and return to peaceful life.
According to the Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee in Kabardino-Balkaria, the republic had about 50 militants, with a maximum of 20 active. 97 militants were killed and about 50 militants and their supporters detained in 2012.
