Anatoly Veryaskin, a conscript who had left the ranks at Totskoye-2 in the Orenburg Region without permission on February 5, 1996, and caught in July 2012, has been sentenced to 2.5 years of prison by the Budyonovsk Garrison Court, ITAR-TASS reports.
He had moved to Dagestan and worked as a farmer. He was caught in Novoromanovskoye in the Stavropol Territory. He explained that he deserted due to abuse by his comrades-in-arms.
