Hydropower station attacked in Kabardino-Balkari

Suspected militants attacked a hydropower plant in Russia's North Caucasus republic of Kabardino-Balkaria early on Wednesday. The gunmen forced their way into the Baksan power station, killing two security guards and setting off a series of explosions which damaged generators.
Law enforcement sources suggested the raid was linked to an attack on a police a station in Baksan some two hours beforehand..
'It cannot be ruled out that we are speaking here about a carefully planned terrorist attack,' RIA Novosti quoted an unnamed law enforcement source as saying. 'The attack on the hydropower plant may have been carried out by the same militants who opened fire at the police building.'
No one was injured in the attack on the police station.
