Syrian engineers have defused a vehicle planned for suicide bombing at the Damascus center, RIA Novosti reports.
A vehicle exploded near the Ba’as Central Committee at the Imam Square at the Damascus center today. Buildings at a radius of 400m and dozens of vehicles were damaged. The explosion happened 150m away from the Russian Embassy. A 2x3m crater was left.
Experts say that the blast was caused by about a ton of explosives.
The second explosion was prevented by a minibus driver. The driver dragged a man with an explosive belt out of the car. The police were in time to stop the terrorist. The car contained about a ton of explosives.
