11 members of Al Qaeda have been detained in Istanbul. They were planning terrorist attacks at the US Embassy in Turkey, synagogues and churches, Sabah reports.
They had 22kg of explosives, five rifles and five pistols.
A blast happened at the US Embassy in Ankara in early February. One security guard of the embassy was killed, one visitor was injured. Edcevit Sanli, a member of the Party/Front for Liberation of the Turkish People, was the suicide bomber.
