Ildus Fayzov, Mufti of Tatarstan and chairman of the republic’s Muslim Administration, plans to resign on Wednesday due to health problems, RIA Novosti reports.
Fayzov was attacked on July 19, 2012. A bomb exploded underneath his car. His deputy ValiullahYakupov was killed at his apartment building on the same day. The mufti has been treated ever since.
