Georgia will celebrate the 117th anniversary of the birth of the well-known Russian poet Vladimir Mayakovsky. The celebrations will take place on July 25th in the regional center of Bagdati, where he was born on July 19th, 1893, ITAR-TASS reports.
The Georgian non-governmental organization "The Union of Societies for Georgian-Russian relations ", which organized the event, reported that the making of the first part of a feature-documentary film about the life of Mayakovsky will be completed in the near future. The first part will describe the childhood of the poet, which he spent in Bagdati. The director of the film is Georgiy Yermakov, graduate of the Theater Institute of Tbilisi. One of the screenplay writers is the head of "The Union of Societies for Georgian-Russian relations", Doctor of Philosophy Nana Tsitelashvili.
The film is based on archive photos, film and written materials.The personage of young Mayakovsky will be represented by 7-year old Constantine Shervashidze and 17-year old Bagdati resident Dato Abuashvili.
