School of Journalism opened in South Ossetia

A journalism school organized with the support of the Moscow State

University History Department ha started in the South Ossetian capital

Tskhinvali. More than 40 journalists from South Ossetia will participate during

three days in training sessions organized by leading media

experts, including well-known television journalist Alexander Sladkov,

Vice President of CROS Olga Peskov and veteran of military journalism

Viktor Litovkin.

Along with training for journalists in the South Ossetian media, there are

other forms of human communication, for example, history lessons in secondary

schools in the city of Tskhinvali, organized by

young teachers Sergey Rekeda and Daria Lyalyulina.

This is not the first experience of such schools in the Caucasus

region, but it is the first time the event has been organized in such close

contact with the History Department. Head of the Department Sergei

Karpov sent a written greeting to the rector of the South Ossetian State

University, proposing to develop bilateral cooperation in the field of

education.

The great interest in the school on the part of young journalists once again

attests to the special treatment in South Ossetia accorded to Russian guests.

Without exception, all the participants in the meeting noted a lack of

professional communication, which largely prevents the formation of a

clearer image of Russia in South Ossetia and of South Ossetia in

Russia.
