Chairman of the Russian Mufti Council Sheikh Rawil Gaynetdin says that the number of Muslims in Russia is growing, RIA Novosti reports.
He noted that more and more people with higher education, science ranks and intellectual professions were expanding the Muslim society.
The number of Muslims in Russia increased from 4% to 7% in the last three years. According to census, Islam was expanding among all ethnicities. The official adds that Islamic communities in large cities and regional centers were growing by tens of percents annually.
