Russia’s FMS counts migrants

 

Deputy head of the Federal Migration Service of Russia Anatoly Kuznetsov said that there were about 3 million migrants who had arrived legally, but violated the terms by staying for over 90 days in the country, RIA Novosti reports.

The number of migrants entering the country grows. Most of them are foreign citizens or people without citizenship. A little less than 14 million people arrived in 2011, 15.8 million in 2012. About 5 million of them arrived for work, including the 3 million illegal migrants.

Figures of the past two months showed increase of migration by 14%, compared with the same period in 2012, the official said.
