Georgian government to cover damage caused by storm

 

Georgian Minister for Energy Kakha Kaladze said that a special emergency structure was formed to pay compensations for damage caused by the recent storm.

The wind tore of roofs of 47 houses in Kobuleti, 93 in Khelvachauri. About 80 buildings were damaged in Shida Kartli. Roofs of about 50 houses were damaged in Avlabari.

22,000 people experience power cut in Kvemo Kartli. 8,000 out of 17,000 people in Kakheti had power restored. A total of 60,000 addresses have no electricity in Georgia.

The minister noted that no people were killed by the disaster. Power will be back on by the end of the day.
