Yusup Gajiyev, head of the Kavkazregiongaz office of Khasavyurt, was killed in a fight, RIA Novosti reports.
According to investigation, Gajiyev had a quarrel with two locals at the yard of his house. The man was shot in the head. A criminal case was initiated and the assailants may get up to 15 years of prison.
An earlier report suggested that the assailants broke into his house and Gajiyev was shooting back, injuring one of the attackers. One of the suspected killers has been caught.
