Caucasian Youth Forum ‘Better Together’ opens in Dombay
The first annual Caucasian Youth Forum ‘Better Together’ started today in the city of Dombay in Karachay-Cherkessia. Young people of all nationalities and religions from all over Russia gathered there. This project is thought to be a means to demonstrate the possibility of international unity and prosperity in Russia.
The chairman of “Russian Caucasus Peoples' Congress”, Aslambek Paskachev, greeted the participants. The president of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Boris Ebzeev, also attended the opening ceremony. He stressed the importance of this Forum, and expressed his hope for its further development and expansion. He said that Karachay-Cherkessia has a common destiny and aims with the entire Russian Federation and is therefore glad to host such a festival.
The head of the Karachay and Balkar Youth Assistance Fund also welcomed the guests of the Forum.
Young activists expressed their pleasure and gratitude in response to the welcome.
The entertainment, tourism and sports program of the Forum, organized by the “Russian Caucasus Peoples' Congress”, is eventful. The culmination of these activities will be a multinational youth group climbing Mount Elbrus.
The Forum will last till the end of July. The plenipotentiary envoy of the Russian President to the North Caucasian Federal District Alexander Khloponin and other officials plan to visit the festival.
“Moskovskiy Komsomolets” and “Vestnik Kavkaza” are official Media partners of the Forum. Several social and cultural projects are due to take place after the Forum.
