Washington has held a conference on Caucasian railways and pipelines attended by Azerbaijani representative Hazar Ibragim.
Azerbaijan expressed readiness to cooperate with NATO on withdrawal of its forces from Afghanistan. Ibragim noted that the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway was suitable for transporting soldiers and cargo.
The official added that NATO will need infrastructure to boost economy and open new workplaces.
Justin Friedman, director of the office for Caucasus and regional conflicts of the US State Department, said that withdrawal will be multi-level. The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars Railway may be used for the purpose when it is ready.
