CIS citizens may be imposed to show international passports to enter Russia

Russia plans to reform migration laws to have CIS citizens show international passports when entering the country, Moscow Deputy Mayor for social policy Leonid Pechatnikov said.


The official noted that such measure would reduce illegal migration. He said that Moscow has a quota of 200,000 migrants, the Federal Migration Service issues patents for 200,000 more.


Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin wants implementation of a visa regime for Asian states to reduce the high migration stream.
