Today a court in Vladikavkaz arrested the chief doctor of the city hospital on suspicion of trading babies. "At the request of the investigators, the court imposed in respect of the suspect of trafficking newborn babies a preventive measure in the form of detention," reads the statement on the website of the Investigative Department in North Ossetia.
The head of the maternity ward of the Vladikavkaz hospital was detained on Saturday while trying to sell a baby born by a teenage girl for a million rubles. The investigation revealed an entire criminal gang engaged in trafficking babies in the walls of the hospital.
